Ron DuBois is a highly-regarded basketball tactician whose experience as an NBA assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies, video coordinator with the Phoenix Suns, and experience as an NCAA player and coach make him a skilled and insightful coach.
Now head coach of the UCSC men’s basketball team, Coach DuBois is one of only six current NCAA coaches, along with John Calipari, Rick Pitino, Larry Brown, Kelvin Sampson and Eric Musselman, that has experience coaching in the NBA and is a FIBA certified coach.
In the past two years, the Lodi, California native has had record-breaking seasons at UCSC, with the most Division III wins in a season and the longest win streak in school history. His players have received several awards, including NCAA all-independent selections, UCSC Male Athlete of the Year and UCSC Most Inspirational Athlete.
DuBois has worked with numerous NBA Stars, including Marc Gasol, Kyle Lowry, Joe Johnson, Mike Miller, Rudy Gay, Mike Conley, Shawn Marion, Pau Gasol, Amare Stoudamire, Damon Stoudamire and Stephon Marbury. He has also coached FIBA recognized teams in the top professional leagues of France, Mexico, and a Caricom region National Team.
A distinguished player himself, DuBois earned a scholarship at Arizona State University. As a point guard in one of the strongest conferences in the country, he was named a team captain his senior year and earned all-academic Pac 10 honors.
